Khmer Pride Keyboard | Android
Privacy Policy
ក្តារចុចមោទនភាពខ្មែរ (“Khmer Pride Keyboard”) is an Android keyboard that converts familiar Latin-letter typing into Khmer text on your device.
The app is developed and published by Cheng Sokdara.
Data collection
The app does not sell typed content, contacts, photos, location, advertising data, or personal dictionary entries.
The keyboard word dictionary is bundled with the app, and suggestions are generated locally on your device.
Optional network features:
- Google Play Billing if you unlock Pro: purchase and restore are handled by Google Play.
- Google Sign-In and Google Drive App Data (Pro only, if you turn on cloud backup): see Personal Dictionary below.
The current build does not collect analytics events or crash reports.
Personal Dictionary
If you use My Dictionary or teach the keyboard a spelling, the app stores the Latin spelling and Khmer word locally on your device. This information is used to improve suggestions on that device.
Local only (default)
By default, personal dictionary data is not uploaded to the developer. Android cloud backup for the app remains disabled so the system does not back up My Dictionary automatically.
Optional Pro cloud backup (Google Drive)
If you unlock Khmer Pride Keyboard Pro and choose Connect Google Drive, the app may:
- Ask you to sign in with Google and grant access to the app’s private Drive App Data folder (not your full Drive files).
- Upload and download a backup of My Dictionary entries to that folder in your Google account.
We do not host your My Dictionary on our own servers for this feature. The backup lives in your Google account. You can disconnect in the app, delete the cloud backup from the app, or revoke app access in your Google Account settings. Local words on the device are kept when you disconnect unless you delete them yourself.
Typing you do in other apps (messages, passwords, and so on) is not uploaded as part of cloud backup.
Accounts
Google Sign-In is optional and used for Drive App Data cloud backup (Pro). Sign-in does not unlock Pro. Pro is sold only through Google Play Billing. Bank transfer tips never unlock features or cloud sync.
Secure fields
In password and other secure fields, the keyboard types direct ASCII, hides Khmer suggestions, and does not learn entries.
Data retention and deletion
Local Personal Dictionary entries and preferences remain on your device until you delete them in the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.
If you used cloud backup, you can delete the cloud copy from the app (Delete cloud backup) or manage app access in your Google Account. After that, the developer has no separate server copy of your dictionary.
Children
The app is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If the app later adds analytics, crash reporting, a developer-hosted sync server, or other network features, this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated before release.
